Vedanta Temple of Santa Barbara

Today I visited The Vedanta Temple, located in Montecito. It was a beautiful area, very calming and you could feel the loving energy of this tranquil place. Inside the temple, was a room with chairs, set in a way that reminds me of a typical church. The room was very still and peaceful with the sunlight flowing through the designs on the wall. I would have loved to take a picture of the inside, but no photography was allowed. Instead I sat down, closed my eyes, and fully embraced the love within the present moment. I felt my intent was magnified by the amazing energy of this place, I look forward to returning in the future for more spiritual and meditative enjoyment.

Also, I was listening to the song "Progress" - by Mute Math last night, and it led me to realizing something that I feel is very profound. Basically, the song goes "What your here for, What you breathe for, What you wake for, What you bleed for, What you hope for, What you live for"

As many times as I have listened to this song, that moment led me to seriously consider 'what I live for', as I had not yet consciously established this. I was rather quick to conclude such a seemingly strong/deep question, and once I did it felt so right, almost obvious. I live to love! Everything I do is out of love, I wake up to share love with the world, I am living to love! and I love it! hahah : )

Nice

Damn Charles, your a pretty good photographer. Hey I got one for ya, have you ever heard of Frank Lloyd Wright's 'Holly Hock House'? When I visit the West Coast I am definitely making tour reservations.

Also the 'Ennis-Brown house' is freaking unbelievable. Both of these homes were designed using a method Wright termed "Mayan Revival" architecture.

Actually

Actually not until now, it seems really interesting yet strange.. From what I read on Wiki it said that it was donated to LA because of construction costs? Was it ever used for anything?

Indeed...

Yes i definitely agree with you on how wonderfully strange the whole status of the Ennis-Brown house. Very interesting indeed. That is my favorite FLW house, even more than Falling Water. I could bullshit about FLW for days. As far as I know, just about all the FLW homes are in possession of UNESCO and other national and international land holders. His architecture is one of the most bizarre things I have come across, I have researched extensively almost every one of the houses. One of the excuses or reasons for the lack of renovation on the Ennis-Brown is due to high cost, this is BS, because the price of admition to see it would pay for all the costs and then some, in a relatively short amount of time. I visited Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Arizona (check 'my photos' album on my myspace. Funny how each one of the homes were built for aristocratic and people who were of higher echelon of society. Now, everyone is in control of the World Banks and Government. The homes are collateral for the World Banks. Those homes are priceless.

This is cool
